The Selec success story began in the 1990s when the team led by founder Samir Kaji developed worldwide unique high-current measuring methods for spot welding systems. After a good decade of developing customer-specific high-tech solutions, the decision was made to use the know-how gathered to develop and manufacture a range of standard industrial electronic products. From the beginning, the focus was on the international market and its quality standards, which was not long in coming to success as well.

 

Expanding on the international market

The high quality, paired with the competitiveness required for the Indian market, made Selec an international name having unique products with a competitive edge. This made many international players in the global automation industry beat a path to Selec’s door in Mumbai. Today Selec can look back on more than 25 years of experience as an important branding partner for well-known western companies. In addition to the Indian-Asian region and the Middle East, Selec is increasingly building trust with quality-oriented customers on the European and American markets.
The range of products meanwhile includes, next to the original measurement technology division, timers, counters, temperature controllers, process indicators, digital panel meters, power factor controllers, current transformers and industrial power supplies.

 

Products for a funcional world

Success makes you attractive. This also applies to companies. Therefore, products from Selec also under the own brand have long since ensured that our world functions properly. For example, Selec multifunctional energy meters can be found in the power supply cabinets of TV broadcasting companies on the field edge of many international sporting events. In Austria, Selec voltage monitoring relays protect the safety technology of highway tunnels and control the switching on and off of emergency power supply units in hospitals. 

 

Race against COVID-19

By continuously increasing efficiency and applying a high degree of automation in production, Selec has meanwhile also managed to become an important player in the very price-sensitive Indian market. With the PLC series, which started in the year 2005, Selec has become an indispensable manufacturer for the Indian market. Widely used they control the production lines of many small and large manufacturing companies across India. Currently Selec PLCs are also making an important contribution in dealing with Covid-19 and serving the above-average demand of the Indian health sector. As powerful, affordable and, above all, available control units, they are currently being increasingly used to operate sterilization systems.

 

Compact and flexible PLCs

Originally developed primarily for the domestic market in India, the Selec PLCs are surprisingly popular in European countries with similar price-sensitive markets such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland or Romania. Customers particularly appreciate the complete one box solution, which is divided into two hardware segments: fixed hardware configuration PLCs and the powerful modular hardware PLC series. The latter is unique because the flexible expansion cards with a wide variety of functions can be used in all available variants. They are just as compatible with the panel mount and DIN rail versions of the standard models as they are with same of the high-end class and can be programmed all on the same platform. For the end of 2020, a further world innovation in PLC sector shall be announced. The new system from the pen of the two-hundred men strong Mumbai development team will bring flexible hardware and low cost PLCs to a new level.
